The Fitness Leader is responsible for providing high-quality fitness instruction, fostering member engagement, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment within the HFA centre. This role supports members of all ages and abilities in achieving their health and wellness goals while modeling the YMCA's core values of

Key Responsibilities
Deliver safe, effective, and engaging fitness classes, workouts, and orientations in accordance with YMCA standards and certifications.
Support members in achieving personal fitness goals through motivation, coaching, and education.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within fitness spaces.
Monitor equipment for safety and functionality; report or address maintenance needs promptly.
Conduct member check-ins, provide program information, and encourage participation in YMCA programs.
Support the delivery of YMCA initiatives and events that promote health and well-being.
Build positive relationships with members to enhance retention and community connection.
Uphold YMCA policies and procedures, including health and safety and child protection standards.
Qualifications
Current
YMCA Fitness Leadership Certification
or equivalent recognized certification. Current
Standard First Aid/CPR-C
certification.
A commitment to YMCA values and fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate others.
Experience in group fitness, personal training, or member coaching preferred.

Job Requirements
A high school diploma or higher
Leadership experience
Excellent communication and computer skills
Ability to work flexible shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings and holidays
