Fish Hatchery Technician

St. Peter's Fish Hatchery Ltd. is a subsidiary company of Ocean Trout Canada Inc. which is an independent, Canadian owned, and full-integrated steelhead trout farming organization that is focused on the expansion and development of its business and is looking to add a dynamic Fish Hatchery Technician to its operations team.

The same group has stated that aquaculture is a key step in reducing the burden on wild fish stocks while providing a sustainable and healthy food protein to consumers.

St. Peter's Fish Hatchery Ltd. has an extremely unique opportunity to bring sustainable steelhead trout to the North American market. As part of a company with locations in New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, Prince Edward Island, St. Peter's Fish Hatchery Ltd. is positioned to rapidly expand our current production to meet consumer demand.

Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:

Provide feed, control and inspections of the fish at the hatchery Ensure proper site housekeeping and maintenance Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of equipment and facilities Monitor and maintain fish health and welfare, including keeping record of daily environmental checks Assist with shipping the fish during shipping season (spring and fall) Other general hatchery tasks to ensure smooth operations

Other:

Previous experience with fish, pumps, or light machinery is an asset Must be eligible to work in Canada Maintain a respectable work environment and embody the corporate culture of being humble, smart and driven

Expected hours: 40 per week
