First-year Engineering Lab and Logistics CoordinatorPrimary Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the delivery of the first-year undergraduate program in the College of Engineering. The position will also support Quality Assurance Research and other research and scholarly activities within the program.Nature of Work: This position reports directly to the Director of the Ron & Jane Graham School of Professional Development. This position is a member of a team responsible for supporting and delivering the Engineering portion of the first-year undergraduate engineering and the General Engineering (GE) programs.This position will primarily involve management and coordination of the lab experiences in the program, as well as some lab instruction, lab equipment maintenance and development, Teaching Assistant supervision, capital equipment planning, program safety management, and course coordination. Labs will take place in courses on Statics, Dynamics, Circuits, Process Engineering, Design, Drawing & Sketching, CAD, Technical Communication, Research, Engineering Disciplinary Experiences, Professionalism and Ethics, and Matlab. The position responsibilities will also extend to logistical support for quality assurance studies and the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) within the program. Opportunities exist for the incumbent to keep up with evolving technology in educational software, learning lab equipment, and learning management systems. There is an expectation of the incumbent to be able to lift/move/push up to 25 lbs unassisted, and more than this with proper equipment and assistance as required.Typical Duties or Accountabilities:Responsible for setting up and running assigned laboratories, which contribute to undergraduate program development and delivery that is consistent with current practice and technologies.This includes activities such as
