CIBC is currently looking for Credit Approval Specialists in the Toronto area!
As an Intermediate Credit Approval Specialist in the Credit Adjudication team in Toronto, you’ll be reviewing, processing and approving residential mortgage/real estate secured and unsecured applications received from branches and alternate distribution channels in a timely and effective manner, resulting in the achievement of CIBC’s mortgage and lending target. Currently there are multiple Intermediate Underwriter positions available in the Credit Adjudication department, across different teams and to accommodate the needs of business partners across Canada, you need to be flexible to work varying shift in order to accommodate.
Duties will include:

  • Decision- Making -You will be negotiating, approving, declining and recommending applications, within established CIBC processes, guidelines and authorized lending limit of up to $1,500,000, including residential mortgage, real estate secured and unsecured applications.
  • Analytics. You will be gathering, reviewing and assessing information and documentation to support each credit application within CIBC risk parameters and Insurers guidelines, if applicable.
  • Relationship building- You will be handling, as required, correspondence and telephone inquiries from internal business partners and external business partners such as insurers, appraisers and solicitors.
  • Risk- Assessment- You will review, prepare and make considered recommendations to Manager or senior underwriter where residential mortgage application is above authority limit.
  • Agility - You will be managing high work volumes to meet short time lines with a high level of quality and due diligence. You will also be expected to review a variety of lending products on a day to day basis.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must self identify as First Nations/Metis/Inuit
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Previous experience in dealing with mortgages, real estate secured and unsecured applications is required
  • High proficiency with computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Able to put a strong focus on client needs
  • You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems, and making sense of information.
  • You're digitally savvy. You seek out innovative solutions and embrace evolving technologies.
