They will be working closely with First Nations Child and Family Services and Jordan\xe2\x80\x99s Principle class action.We will be hiring in Saskatchewan, Alberta, BC & Quebec - Urban and Rural Positions (Some positions will be remote)
Reporting to the Manager, the Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the Claims Administrators.General Responsibilities:

  • Support the Agents as a direct source of information, check-ins and problem-solving, monitoring, growth and development and scheduling team meetings.
  • Help ensure Agents have access to wellness support and any support required in terms of equipment and organizational needs.
  • Oversight and leadership in supporting a team of Agents.
  • Help ensure the Agents provide effective support and assistance to Claimants.
  • Participate in check-in meetings reporting to the Program Project Lead.
  • Assist Claimants in completing claim forms, connecting them with existing mental health, legal, and cultural support services.
  • Participate in multiple training sessions including e-courses, de-briefings, and self-directed learning classes to ensure that individuals are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to provide effective claims support for the Claims Process.
  • Provide Claimants with assistance in checking the status of their claim and appealing decisions with the Administrator.
  • Being able to adapt to new changes and pivot when needed.
  • Follow the milestones and be up to date on information regarding the settlement.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in project management.
  • Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture, history, and the impacts of (intergenerational) trauma.
  • In-depth understanding of colonial policies, discriminatory laws and the impacts of colonization on Indigenous peoples and communities.
  • Have an intermediate understanding of technology and various online platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver clear communication.
  • Understanding the governance structure of Indigenous communities.
  • Trauma training.
  • Preferred or in-depth experience and understanding in Indigenous history, peoples and culture.
  • Ability to travel across Canada.
  • Self-identifying as Indigenous and/or having first-hand knowledge or experience living in and/or working with an Indigenous community will be considered an asset.
Nice to have:
  • Familiarity with Indigenous regional governance structures.
  • Understanding of Indigenous culture, history, and trauma impacts.
  • Knowledge of colonial policies and their effects on Indigenous communities.
