Holiday Inn Toronto International Airport is seeking a talented First Cook to join our dynamic team. What you will be doing?



Assist in direct kitchen operations including food preparation, quality control, maintenance, and inventory management. Supervise culinary staff and ensure compliance with food preparation, presentation, and quality standards. Oversee banquet food and beverage preparation, plating, and quality for events. Plan banquet menus, develop recipes, and control food and labor costs. Maintain storage, inventory, equipment security, and timely replenishment of supplies. Lead daily kitchen activities, assign tasks, and set performance goals for staff. Train and coach kitchen employees to meet brand standards and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with Sales, Catering, and Banquets to facilitate menus and special events. Communicate with guests to ensure satisfaction and handle kitchen-related inquiries. Order kitchen supplies, liaise with vendors, and ensure competitive pricing and quality. Ensure kitchen equipment is clean, operational, and report maintenance needs promptly. Keep kitchen and storage areas clean, organized, and stocked according to business volume. Participate in sustainability programs such as recycling and waste reduction.

What are the requirements for this role?



High school diploma or equivalent; 3 years' experience as Sous Chef or similar role. Culinary degree or certificate preferred; Red Seal Certification required. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs , stand for extended periods, and perform physical kitchen tasks. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Capable of managing budgets, food costing, and inventory control. Experience in training and mentoring culinary teams. Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
