Fundamental First Aid Ltd. is seeking a qualified and experienced First Aid Training Manager to support the delivery and development of occupational first aid and workplace safety training programs. This is a senior instructional role involving classroom instruction, mentorship, curriculum oversight, and regulatory alignment. The successful candidate will also oversee the development of custom training programs and serve as the medical director for those programs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced First Aid training (formerly OFA Level 1, 2, and 3) in compliance with WorkSafeBC standards
Mentor and provide instructional guidance to junior first aid instructors to ensure consistency and instructional quality
Develop, review, and revise course materials and training aids in accordance with adult education principles
Design and implement custom first aid training programs for corporate and institutional clients
Ensure all custom-designed programs meet or exceed relevant provincial and federal regulatory requirements
Serve as medical director for custom training programs, with responsibility for overseeing clinical accuracy, program integrity, and regulatory compliance
Schedule training sessions and coordinate logistics, including classroom resources and instructor availability
Maintain accurate records related to student performance, instructional quality, and training outcomes
Support internal quality assurance processes, including instructional audits and compliance reviews
Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and accreditation authorities to ensure alignment with occupational health and safety standards
Participate in staff training and contribute to internal curriculum development initiatives
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a first aid instructor or adult vocational educator
Valid Occupational First Aid Level 3 Instructor certification (or equivalent certification recognized by WorkSafeBC)
Proven experience developing and delivering workplace safety or first aid training programs
In-depth knowledge of British Columbia's occupational first aid training regulations
Experience in instructional quality assurance and/or clinical oversight
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Medical degree (MD, MBBS, or equivalent) from a recognized institution
Experience submitting training programs for provincial or federal regulatory approval
Certification in adult instructional methods such as Train-the-Trainer, Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW), or similar
Background in medicine, paramedicine, nursing, and/or occupational health and safety
Prior experience in a supervisory or instructor coordination role
Work Environment:
This position is primarily based at our Vancouver training centre, with some travel to client sites within the Lower Mainland. The role may involve occasional weekend or evening work depending on training schedules.
