Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented

Firestop Technician

to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, and maintaining firestop systems in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. As a key part of our fire protection team, you will ensure that all firestop systems comply with local building codes, safety standards, and manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities:

Install Firestop Systems

: Apply fire-resistant sealants, caulking, wraps, and other materials to joints, gaps, and penetrations in walls, floors, and ceilings.

Inspect & Maintain Systems

: Perform regular inspections of installed firestop systems and conduct necessary repairs or replacements.

Blueprint Interpretation

: Read and interpret construction plans to ensure accurate installation of firestop systems.

Safety Compliance

: Ensure all installations meet safety codes, industry standards, and regulations.

Documentation

: Keep accurate records of installations, inspections, and maintenance work completed.

Collaboration

: Work closely with general contractors, construction teams, and other trades to ensure timely and efficient installation of firestop systems.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in firestop installation, fire protection, or construction is required. Knowledge of firestop materials and systems (e.g., sealants, fire-resistant wraps). Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and plans. Strong attention to detail with an ability to spot potential issues. Good communication and teamwork skills.
Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
