IWC Excavation Ltd is an established Civil and General Contractor that services all of Vancouver Island and is based out of Nanaimo, BC.

Job Title: Firewatch - Temporary Position

Location: Gabriola Island, BC

Employment Type: Temporary, Part-Time (Weekdays only)

Hours: 2 hours per day, Monday to Friday

About the Position:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to perform daily firewatch duties on our project site on Gabriola Island. This is a temporary position for the duration of the project and is ideal for someone looking for short, consistent weekday work. Fire watch will be required for 2 hours after the crew's work day.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor designated work areas for potential fire hazards.

Report any unsafe conditions to the site supervisor immediately.

Remain on site for the full duration of the assigned shift (2 hours per day).

Requirements:

Reliable and punctual with good attention to detail.

Comfortable working independently.

Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the shift.

Previous firewatch, safety, or construction experience an asset (but not required).

Compensation:

Paid hourly, based on company wage scale.

Temporary role for the duration of the project.
