Our Fire Shop Technician will be responsible for completing and supporting inspection, testing and repair work related to fire protection and related equipment. Some of the additional expectations of this role include:
  • Inspecting, testing, and servicing fire extinguishers;
  • Inspecting and testing fire hoses;
  • Servicing life saving appliances;
  • Ensuring timely and quality completion of work orders;
  • Completing daily reports of completed work orders and activities;
  • Monitoring parts inventory and equipment maintenance requirements;
  • Following all safe work practices and safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job; and
  • Participating in on-call/call out emergency service as required.

The successful candidate must be a professional, highly motivated, self-starter with a keen attention to detail and the ability to safely execute high quality work on-time, every time. They will bring with them strong communication and customer service skills, with an ability to work both collaboratively with team members, as well as independently, to deliver high quality service and support to our customers. Given the service and solutions focus of our business, they will also be able to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and flexibility to address changing situations and priorities.
An ability to operate various power tools and machinery; a strong background in hands on work; demonstrated mindset towards continuous learning, as well as an ability to use/learn technology solutions in the execution of their work is a must. They must also possess a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license. Overtime may be necessary; therefore, flexibility in hours of work will be required. A Candidate with previous experience in the fire inspection or related field would be preferred. Combinations of education in a related field and experience will be considered.
