Levitt-Safety is looking for a Shop Technician to inspect, maintain, and service fire and life safety equipment, including extinguishers, cylinders, breathing apparatus, and more. In this role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring our customers have reliable safety equipment they can depend on every day. About the Role
Based primarily in our shop in Oakville, you will receive comprehensive training to support our customers and mobile technicians. You will build your career with us through formal technical training and certifications from our manufacturers, as well as hands-on training with our experienced team.
Main Responsibilities
Your role will involve a variety of maintenance, repair, and customer support activities, including:
Inspecting, repairing, and maintaining fire and life safety equipment such as extinguishers, breathing apparatus, gas detection systems, and other critical safety gear.
Conducting fire extinguisher inspections, maintenance, and audits, with follow-up service where required.
Performing hydrostatic testing of cylinders and pressure equipment to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
Assisting with the assembly, testing, and calibration of breathing apparatus and related equipment.
Documenting all service activities, completing inspection reports, and maintaining accurate records, ensuring safety and compliance.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked shop environment to support efficient operations.

Ideal Qualifications
Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience working with tools and equipment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures and regulations.
Customer-focused mindset with good communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted, coupled with good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity
Able to pass pre-employment and periodic drug and alcohol testing as well as criminal background checks
You will support a strong safety culture and service team by being a part of regular safety meetings, ensuring adherence to safe work practices, and proactively identifying and addressing hazards. This role models safe behavior, works closely with the Quality team to uphold service standards and contributes to incident prevention and continuous improvement in safety performance.
