Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing security alarm systems and related components. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and low voltage wiring, along with mechanical aptitude. The Alarm Technician will ensure that all systems operate efficiently and meet safety standards, providing reliable security solutions for our clients.

Duties



Install alarm systems including sensors, control panels, and wiring according to blueprints and schematics Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on existing alarm systems to ensure optimal performance Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately install and service equipment Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized electrical equipment to complete installations and repairs Test alarm components such as sensors, power supplies, and low voltage wiring for proper operation Diagnose system malfunctions using electrical experience and mechanical knowledge Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to integrate alarm systems seamlessly Document work performed and maintain detailed records of system configurations and repairs Ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical codes during all phases of installation and maintenance

Requirements



Proven experience with blueprint reading, schematics, and electrical wiring Knowledge of construction practices related to security system installation Electrical experience with low voltage wiring and power tools usage Mechanical knowledge applicable to alarm system components and sensors Familiarity with sensors, control panels, and security system components Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment safely and effectively Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose electrical or mechanical issues efficiently Prior experience working with schematics and technical diagrams is preferred Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments including construction sites or existing facilities Valid driver's license is often required for travel between job sites
