Fire Alarm Technician

Anzac, Alberta


Accommodation:

Schedule:

Compressed 12-hour shifts, 7 days on / 7 days off.

Trade / Scope Specific responsibilities, including, but not limited to:




Inspection of existing fire alarm infrastructure, equipment, and related components. Diagnose condition of existing fire alarm infrastructure, equipment, and related components. Perform preventative maintenance on existing fire alarm infrastructure, equipment, and related components. Recommend best-fit solutions for existing fire alarm infrastructure, equipment, and related components. Service and repair existing fire alarm infrastructure, equipment, and related components. Sales of new fire alarms and related components. Assembly and installation of new and replacement fire alarm infrastructure, equipment, and related components. Communication of inspections, diagnoses, preventative maintenance, recommendations, construction, service/repair, and installation of fire alarm infrastructure, equipment, and related components. Documentation of inspections, diagnoses, preventative maintenance, recommendations, construction, service/repair, and installation of fire alarm infrastructure, equipment, and related components. Follow safety guidelines, approved processes, and procedures on the job site. Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members to minimize disruptions and maximize productivity. Work cohesively with teams of employees or contractors. Communicate in a polite and courteous manner.



Ideal Qualifications




Valid CFAA Registration Minimum 2 years of experience in Fire Detection, Special Hazards, and programming addressable fire alarm panels. Strong working knowledge of NFPA, ULC, and applicable Fire Codes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Technologically adept with mobile devices and laptops. Valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract. Ability to obtain security clearance (background check, pre-employment drug/alcohol testing, references). Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.

Applicants must already hold the following certifications to be eligible for this position. If the successful candidate does not already possess these certifications, they will be required to obtain them at their own expense prior to commencing work.






General Certifications Required:




Valid CFAA Registration


- Valid Class 5 Driver's License - No more than 6 demerit points


Up to date Drivers Abstract

NFPA 10 (SAIT or Lakeland College) would be an asset, but not required



Safety Certifications Required:




CSTS 2020 WHIMIS 2015 CSO Standard First Aid H2S Alive TDG


Pre access Requirements:


Drug and Alcohol Testing Fitness for Work Exam




Please note the successful Candidate will be required to pass a Drug and Alcohol test, Fitness for Work, Respiratory Fitness test, and Mask Fit Test as required by their specific position prior to beginning work.
