About the Role
The
FinOps Practitioner
role we are recruiting for will report to our
VP of Delivery
and is based out of our
Peterborough corporate office
. This is an
on-site position (no remote option)
.
We are seeking a detail-oriented, client-facing FinOps professional who thrives at the intersection of cloud, finance, and IT. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering cloud cost optimization, governance, and financial accountability across enterprise environments. This role is pivotal in helping global clients save millions while elevating their FinOps maturity and adoption of best practices.
What You'll Do
Lead client cloud cost optimization (rightsizing, storage optimization, idle resource cleanup).
Experience with Azure is a must; OCI, AWS and GCP are a bonus.
Build and maintain tagging standards and cost allocation processes.
Monitor anomalies and cost spikes, escalating to stakeholders with clear remediation guidance.
Provide quarterly recommendations for Reserved Instances (RIs) and Savings Plans.
Deliver executive reports and dashboards (cost trends, savings, anomalies).
Run onboarding and training sessions to help clients adopt FinOps best practices.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, working closely with IT, Finance, and Procurement.
Assist with SAM/FinOps cost optimization projects with fortune 500 type companies.
Other duties as assigned.
KEY COMPETENCIES
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required but are not necessarily all-inclusive.
3+ years of experience in cloud financial management, FinOps, or cost optimization.
Strong knowledge of Azure, AWS, or GCP billing and pricing models.
Experience with cost management tools (SLIM 360, CloudHealth, ServiceNow, or similar).
Strong skills in Excel/Power BI for reporting and analysis.
Excellent communication skills; able to bridge technical and financial stakeholders.
FinOps Certified Practitioner preferred.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
Creative thinking with a strategic mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years experience in a FinOps cloud role, preferably with experience in Azure.
Job Type: Full-time
Base Pay - $70,000 to $100,000 per year, plus Performance Bonus/Special Bonuses based on mutually agreed targets post-hire.
