POSITION OVERVIEW

The Finishing Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all finishing activities on site to ensure high-quality workmanship, adherence to schedule, and compliance with company standards and project specifications. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple trades and tasks to deliver exceptional end results on commercial and/or residential construction projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

Site Management & Coordination



Supervise, coordinate, and schedule all finishing trades (drywall, painting, flooring, millwork, doors, hardware, etc.). Ensure that finishing work is completed according to drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Work closely with the Project Manager and subcontractors to maintain project timelines. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety, quality, and progress compliance. Identify and resolve finishing-related issues promptly to avoid project delays.

Quality Control & Safety



Enforce company safety policies and WorkSafeBC regulations on site. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Review and approve finishing details, samples, and mock-ups to ensure design intent and quality expectations are met. Perform quality checks and final walkthroughs with clients and consultants.

Scheduling & Documentation



Develop and manage detailed finishing schedules aligned with the overall project plan. Track progress and report on milestones, deficiencies, and completion status. Support the preparation of deficiency lists and coordinate timely completion with trades. Maintain site documentation, including daily reports, safety inspections, and quality control logs.

Team Leadership



Foster a collaborative work environment and maintain positive relationships with trades, suppliers, and clients. Lead finishing meetings with subcontractors and site teams to communicate priorities and expectations. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior site staff when applicable.

Qualifications



Minimum 5+ years of experience in a finishing or superintendent role within the construction industry. Proven experience managing finishing scopes on commercial, residential, or mixed-use projects. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and finishing techniques. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency with construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project) is an asset. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various project sites as required. Strong understanding of BC Building Code and WorkSafeBC regulations.

Pay: $120,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
