The Opportunity
Muskoka Cabinet Company is hiring a Full-time Finishing Operator who will be responsible for staining, finish wood to specific colours, sanding, sorting, etc. Attention to detail is important to ensure that the final product is sturdy and aesthetically pleasing. Product inspections to ensure a defect-free final outcome.
Finishing operators work within a production schedule. Meeting deadlines and maintaining efficiency is important to ensure that the manufacturing process stays on track.

The Role
Pay range: $20 - $26 per hour.
Full health benefit program after successful completion of the 6 months probationary period.
Paid sick days available after a 6-month probation period.
Profit Sharing Program available after successful completion of 6 months full time.
Full Time in person work on site in Alfred, ON.
On-site training for this position.
Start date - ASAP.
Responsibilities and duties:
Achieve consistent, high-quality finishes on wood products according to specified colours and standards.
Ensure smooth and uniform surfaces by filling gouges with wood filler and meticulously sanding wood surfaces.
Set up and operate finishing machines proficiently to efficiently complete finishing tasks.
Utilize hand tools effectively to finish furniture by hand when necessary, demonstrating skill and precision.
Apply lacquer or other sealers to protect and enhance the appearance of finished wood products.
Ensure proper application techniques to achieve desired results and durability.
Handle equipment and materials safely, adhering to weight handling guidelines of up to 23kg (50lbs).
Maintain a safe work environment and follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
Collaborate with colleagues in the cabinet shop to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of finishing tasks.
Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors to address any issues and maintain production schedules.
The Candidate
Individuals with the following traits, skills and experiences should apply:
Experience 2 years' experience as a finisher in a cabinet making is preferred.
Good computer skills.
Able to deal effectively with production and attention to details.
Experience with woodworking equipment would be desirable but not essential.
Great communication skills; written and verbal.
Understanding of Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
Ability to work & lead in a team environment & individually.
English speaking, reading, and writing are mandatory.
Proficient in computer usage.
Ability to lift up-to 23kg (50lbs).
