Finishing Carpenter

to join our team in

Kelowna, BC.




As a Finishing Carpenter with Benchmark Builders Inc., you will play a critical role in the final phase of our construction projects, ensuring precision, detail, and quality in all finishing aspects. Under the direction of the Superintendent and Foreperson, you will be responsible for installing millwork, trim, doors, hardware, cabinetry, and other finishing components. Safety is our top priority, and you will be expected to adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations on the job.

Your Key Responsibilities



Millwork and Trim Installation - Installing baseboards, crown molding, casing, wainscoting, and other custom woodwork Door and Hardware Installation - Hanging doors, installing handles, locks, and hinges, ensuring smooth operation Cabinetry and Built-ins - Installing custom cabinetry, shelving, and detailed woodwork with precision Applying interior and exterior finishes Finish surfaces by sanding, planing, fitting, and adjusting to achieve precise, clean results Framing structures Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards Load and unload construction materials and move materials to work areas Assembling, erecting, installing and dismantling structures Assist tradespersons and trade partners in construction activities Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other equipment Perform other activities at construction sites as directed

Your Qualifications and Experience



Minimum of 5 years experience as a Carpenter in Commercial Construction, experience in Multifamily, Tenant Improvements and Operational Renovations is considered an asset Journeyperson Certificate is an asset Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for precise measuring, cutting, fitting, and finishing tasks Physical ability to lift materials, stand, kneel, or work overhead for extended periods Ability to work at various heights, including ladders, scaffolding, or elevated platforms Ability to push, pull, and position materials into place with accuracy; work in awkward spaces/positions and adverse weather conditions Capacity to operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for prolonged periods Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, push/pull, bend and crouch frequently Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail Own transportation, able to get to and from site Productive in a team environment Understands and adheres to all safety policies and procedures
