Overview

We are seeking a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in detailed woodworking, cabinetry, and finishing work, with the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics accurately. This role involves working on residential, commercial, and restoration projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. The Finish Carpenter will collaborate with project managers and other trades to deliver exceptional results on time and within scope.

We are working in Jasper for 1-2 years with overtime, LOA and travel available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to execute precise carpentry work Install cabinets, trim, molding, doors, windows, and other finish carpentry elements Apply finishing techniques including sanding, painting preparation, caulking, and touch-ups Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete tasks Collaborate with team members on construction estimating and project planning Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to safety protocols Must have reliable transportation to travel to and from jobsites in Edmonton, St Albert, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan and out of town when applicable.

Skills

Proficiency in blueprint reading and schematics interpretation Skilled in cabinet installation, and fine woodworking Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in carpentry and construction Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on job sites Experience in crown moulding, wainscoting, fireplace mantles, closet shelving, and interior railings considered as asset Ability to work unsupervised and complete jobs to the customers satisfaction Ability to train and share knowledge with apprentices
