Braam's is adding four finishers (sanders) - painters to their team.
The Sander
sets up and operates a variety of sanding machines and uses various hand tools to sand and shape products for finishing or assembly.. The Finish Sander may be required to pre-finish using stains and or glazes. You will work as part of a team and will receive training
Duties and Responsibilities As a Finishing Sander
you will be responsible for:
From the information provided on the paperwork (digital format), select the parts that are to be sanded.
Use drawings and/or job paperwork (digital format) to set up machines and/or select tools and materials (proper grit sandpaper) for the job. Plan the sequence of operations and follow through.
If required by the job, apply pre-finishes (stains, glazes, etc.).
Fill in any defects then sand and shape the items as per the directions. Inspect the finished product to ensure all defects and blemishes are removed as per Braam's quality standards.
Complete the appropriate paperwork and digital notes, leave with item(s) and notify the lead hand.
Ensure that machines and tools are functioning properly and report any maintenance issues or repairs that are required to the lead hand.
The employee shall perform any raw/finish sanding task as requested by their lead hand.
Maintain cleanliness and basic housekeeping of the work area
Demonstrate the desire to continuously learn and improve work processes.
The Painter
sprays surfaces of manufactured wood and wood products with protective or decorative material such as paint, stain, enamel, glaze, gel-coat or lacquer, using spray gun, cloth or brush. Will learn how to operate the automated paint booth after proficiency as a painter is proven.
Duties and Responsibilities As a Painter
you will be responsible for:
Reading drawings to select parts to be sprayed and determine the required coating
Selecting tools and materials for the job and planning the sequence of operations
Checking to ensure that the equipment will function properly and that the output will meet specifications and prevent a problem that could damage costly raw materials
Mixing ingredients to obtain desired colors or shades
Applying stains to match approved samples
Inspecting finished product to ensure it meets quality of standards
Cleaning and maintaining equipment and storing it according to company specifications
Keeping work area neat and clean
Completing all documentation for completed work
The ideal candidates
will have the following qualities or be proactive in their learning:
Energetic team player who is adaptable to change
Ability to identify wood species
Basic understanding of cabinetry manufacturing terminology
Read and follow manufacturing documents and drawings
Perform work with minimal supervision
Able to work with others in a fast-paced team environment
Must be able to lift 30 (+) pounds regularly
Due to the nature of the work, candidates are required to stand on their feet for an entire 8 to 10-hour shift (with exception of break periods and lunch)
Able to efficiently meet production standards as set by Braam's Custom Cabinets
Willingly takes on other tasks as requested

Pay: $19.60-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 - 44 per week
