Working closely with the dedicated Finance IT support team (FSS) to provide support for the financial applications used by the finance business teams. This job is responsible for providing Tier One application support in the analysis and resolution of software and / or system issues for Finance end users, working with IT to manage upgrades and enhancements to existing Finance software and implementation of new software solutions specific to the Finance division for both Medavie Blue Cross and MHS companies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage security and access to core financial applications - Dynamics GP, Kwik Tag products, ReQlogic, WebSeries, etc.
  • Represent Finance end users through participation in corporate IT projects. This includes gathering requirements, participating in the selection or development of new enhancements and functionality for existing applications, development and execution of test scenarios for new solutions, and supporting finance business users through implementation process.
  • Providing Tier One operational support for users of finance applications through management of the Financial Systems database.This includes research to understand core issues, working with IT support to determine underlying causes, testing of system fixes, supporting implementations of issue solutions to Production and guiding end users through resolution process.
  • Support of business end users to manage inquiries concerning finance software applications functionality, training of finance users on new functionality and new software solutions, development of documentation for new software solutions as they relate to Medavie business processes.
  • Participation in the research, analysis and selection of new software solutions for Finance.
  • Maintenance of Finance software applications ensuring we remain on current versions, upgrading regularly, participating in the design and implementation of new software solutions / new functionality within existing software to enhance Finance end user experience and facilitate completion of Finance activities.
  • Requirements gathering and analysis with Finance business end users
  • Provide detailed instructions to Finance end users to resolve issues with finance applications (documentation, verbal instruction, emailed instructions).
  • Working closely with various IT teams including FSS and Security teams to manage financial applications.
  • Represent Finance and provide inputs for corporate technology projects (eg - MAAX releases and enhancements).
  • Work with external vendors in defining requirements and managing software implementations for Finance.
Minimum Requirements
  • Community college diploma with concentration in accounting or equivalent experience in an accounting environment.
  • Minimum three years\' experience in an accounting department or finance operation.
  • Experience with use of multiple and varied technology solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting process, business financial reporting requirements and general financial processes.
  • Experience in gathering and documenting requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel especially.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and able to relate to and work with business end users.
Nice to Haves
  • Experience working with and providing support to business end users.
  • Experience in preparation and execution of test scenarios.
  • Experience in development of finance documentation.
  • Experience in training end users on new functionality.
  • Exposure to information management systems & experience in being involved with the implementation and rollout of accounting or business operational software and software upgrades.
  • Understanding of internal controls and accounting policy.
  • Previous user experience with Dynamics GP in testing and troubleshooting user functionality.
  • Bilingualism (FR/EN) considered an asset.
