Financial Systems Analyst

The Financial Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial systems, with a primary focus on financial analysis, reconciliation, data extraction, and expertise in Azure and SQL. This role requires a strong understanding of financial processes, database tables/management and will involve working closely with the Peoplesoft and D365 backend system.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and discrepancies in data related to Sales, Inventory, Payables, from various sources such as Point of Sale, Warehousing and Accounting Systems.
  • Utilize SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources to match subsystems and financial records. Ensure that data extraction processes are efficient, accurate, and aligned with business requirements.
  • Write and update SQL queries across multiple databases and tables, and optimize for performance and efficiency when extracting, manipulating, and reporting data.
  • Proactively monitor subsystem postings to ensure they match the General Ledger (GL). Investigate and resolve any discrepancies that arise, maintaining accurate financial reporting.
  • Perform regular reconciliations between different subsystems and financial records to ensure consistency and accuracy of data. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Utilize Peoplesoft and D365 backends for running queries and reconciliations. Collaborate with IT and finance teams to maintain and enhance the integration between financial systems, ensuring data integrity and system reliability.
  • Generate clear and concise reports to communicate financial analysis findings, reconciliation outcomes, and data extraction results to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline financial analysis and related processes, enhance data accuracy, and improve overall financial system efficiency.
  • Work closely with inventory management, finance, IT, and other relevant departments to understand their data needs, provide support, and ensure alignment with business goals.

EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Finance/Computer Science, or a related field. Master\'s degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Strong expertise in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting.
  • Experience with financial analysis, reconciliation, and financial systems management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles, processes, and accounting standards.
  • Familiarity with Peoplesoft, D365 and Azure systems and ability to run queries and perform reconciliations.
