We have an opening for a Financial Specialist, in the corporate finance commissions team, which will build on analytic and accounting experience. The location will be determined based on where the successful candidate is located.

Position Summary:

As part of the commissions team, the Financial Specialist will be responsible for producer commissions and the reporting of commission data. You will work with different business units including Financial Reporting, Analytics, Acquisitions, Payroll, Technology, Human Resources, and directly with branches to facilitate the commission process. The Financial Specialist will bring strong working-knowledge of MS Excel/MS Access and general accounting knowledge including experience reconciling general ledger accounts and must also have strong communication skills.

What the Role Entails:

  • Maintain, monitor, and deploy monthly and quarterly commission statements associated with commissions
  • Work with various reports that require excellent understanding of MS Excel & MS Access
  • Prepare year-end reconciliations
  • Accounting knowledge to assist with g/l reconciliations, analysis, and g/l adjustments
  • Communicate effectively with regional branch managers and directors on commission reporting, changes in commission policies, and Finance Policies
  • Work with the Data Integration, Technology, and HR business units representing Finance to understand, verify and implement commission agreements
  • Coordinate with the Acquisitions team to ensure that the transition of commissions payable for producers is done in an accurate and timely manner
  • Support the Financial Reporting team during month-end
  • Complete other tasks as assigned including but not limited to ad-hoc report requests
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
The Successful candidate will have:

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business Analysis / Analytics
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in accounting, financial analysis, commission reporting, analytics
  • Must have advanced MS Excel and MS Access skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and take initiative
  • Ability to work well with and assist others
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong problem solving, organizational, time management, prioritizing and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Nice to have:
  • General understanding of SQL domain-specific language used in programming and managing of data held within relational database management systems
