As our Financial Services Representative, you will be joining a team of highly engaged financial service professionals who are dedicated to providing an exceptional Member Experience. In this role, your primary responsibilities will be to understand the financial needs of our Members and provide the appropriate advice and recommendations. As a member of the branch sales and service team, the primary responsibilities for this position will be to understand the financial needs of our Members and provide the appropriate advice and recommendations. This will include completing front line transactional services to support our Members day to day banking, as well as an opportunity to grow by fulfilling advisory sales role such as opening new accounts, offering credit, deposit, identifying opportunities for wealth referrals, as well as positioning Meridian\xe2\x80\x99s products and services to add value to our Members financial well being.

The Financial Services Representative will work alongside and align financial strategies and activities to support Meridian\xe2\x80\x99s internal business partners \xe2\x80\x93 Wealth, Small Business, Mobile Mortgage Specialists to ensure value added delivery of Member centric products/solutions.

In addition, this role will be responsible for meeting and exceeding specific individual goals and contributing towards team-based business results. This role is expected to proactively engage in revenue generating and sales-based activities, foster and deepen Member relationships and refer business to other channels.

  • Participates and leads branch activities in support of expanding the Member relationship and growing share of wallet including growing our Digital Ambassador Program

  • Identify and fulfill Member requests and identify opportunities to grow the relationship.
  • Demonstrates excellent listening and strong consultative skills.
  • Embraces virtual technology platforms and leverages them to host meetings and engage in impactful communication with Members
  • Removes systemic barriers to exceptional Member Experience.
  • Identify and contributes to the continuous enhancement of the Member Experience while leveraging Voice of Employee.
  • With autonomy to resolve Member Concerns- look to create action plans to avoid escalation in the future.
  • Engage in revenue generation and sales-based activities in order to achieve performance objectives.
  • Provide investment advice by identifying and promoting solutions that fit and meet our Member needs.
  • Within approval limits approve or provide recommendations on credit products based on thorough, accurate and appropriate credit interviewing and underwriting skills
  • Open new Member accounts using account opening strategies

  • Promote Meridian Credit Union in your community by participating in and being involved in community activities or events while demonstrating the Company Values
  • Support local community organizations and activities through Business Development and Good Neighbour Program. Planning, preparation and delivery of Meridian hosted Community events.

  • Strong business acumen and financial industry knowledge
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience in a financial services sales environment an asset
  • Flexible to work all scheduled hours which include evenings and weekends
