Duties and responsibilities:
As part of the Financial Services team and reporting to the Financial Services Manager, the Financial Services Clerk is responsible for various bookkeeping and record keeping duties and providing support in all areas of Financial Services. This position will focus primarily on tasks related to, but not limited to, accounts receivable.
Duties include:
Records bookkeeping transactions, including review of backup documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Reconciles various accounts.
Communicates with various SaskAbilities' personnel and outside parties (vendors, customers, etc.) as needed.
Prepares month end reports as assigned.
Provides back up support to other Financial Services Clerks.
May provide backup reception coverage as needed at our Provincial Services building in Saskatoon.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Business administration certificate or diploma.
18 to 24 months' previous experience in a similar capacity is preferred.
A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills:
Strong focus on accounts receivable functions is an asset.
Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel specifically and Word) and knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP.
General accounting knowledge and familiarity with federal and provincial sales tax requirements.
Knowledge of financial analysis techniques, methods, and practices for financial transactions.
Knowledge of record keeping best practices, including handling of confidential information.
Attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures are critical.
Ability to multi-task.
Effective time management skills (many assigned tasks are time sensitive).
Proven ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
