The role of the Estate & Financial Planning (EFPS) Specialist is to provide estate and financial planning services to qualified customers and an ability to engage experienced advisors in more complex cases. The role requires a blend of technical ability along with outstanding communication and influencing skills to enable customers to act on the financial plans provided to them. This includes:
providing personalized comprehensive financial planning to customers via Career Sales Force (CSF) advisors.
acting as a technical resource for advisors in support of providing advanced personalized comprehensive financial support to their customers.
providing opportunities for advanced level training to select CSF advisors in support of their development into EFPS related markets.
The key relationship is with Advisors and their customers and their customer\xe2\x80\x99s other professional advisors. A strong relationship with Financial Centre (FC) managers is critical in enlisting them to be actively supporting EFPS as an integral part of their FCs sales culture. In addition there are FC management teams, EFPS head office staff and co-workers
What will you do?
Contributing to CSF sales results by providing EFPS qualified clients with compelling financial planning advice.
Providing opportunities for advanced level training to select CSF advisors in support of their development into EFPS related markets
Serving as an estate and financial planning services resource for advisors and Financial Centres where necessary and appropriate.
Delivering seminars/presentations on advanced planning topics.
Maintaining a current and thorough knowledge of estate and financial planning through research, attending industry related functions, etc.
Developing a full competence in the use of EFPS and Sun Life financial planning support tools.
Managing personal workflow and scheduling with advisors.
Identifying and developing a core group of advisors to work with
Enlisting additional sales support help if an advisor is struggling with how to approach the product solutions needed to implement a plan.
What do you need to succeed?
Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide.
3-10+ years in a Financial Planning or related role and one or more of the following accreditations:
CFP/Pl.Fin. (in Qu\xc3\xa9bec)
CLU
CSC
CA
RFP
LLB
Preferred Skills:
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Strong influence skills that encourage clients to take action on their financial future.
Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
A consistent record of quality service
Maintenance of a professional image
Ability to foster and promote effective working relationships (eg. with advisors, FC managers, Regional Management Teams, head office staff and co-workers).
Full competence in the use of EFPS and Sun Life financial planning support tools.
Demonstrated self-management skills.
Strong analytical ability required to assess a client\xe2\x80\x99s financial situation.
Sound working knowledge of PC application (i.e. Word, Excel and Powerpoint).

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
