The bigger picture

We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a results-driven individual with a keen eye for detail to come on board as our Financial Performance Analyst for a 12-18 month term. The Financial Performance Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting both the Financial Performance and Credit Risk teams in illustrating business decisions, providing credit risk insight, and financial performance in a comprehensible financial picture.

This individual will also be responsible for supporting the capital management strategy, maintaining financial sustainability and credit risk models, and analyzing/reporting the risk of Conexus\' loan portfolio. This individual will guide the organization on targets and measures that will ensure the credit union is sustainable for the long term.

How you\xe2\x80\x99ll be spending your time

  • Supporting the corporate annual budget and forecasting process for Conexus and its subsidiaries.
  • Collaborating with partners to gather budgets and include them into financial statement reporting.
  • Assisting in reporting annual budget and forecast information to governing bodies (e.g., Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation (CUDGC))
  • Providing financial analysis and advice for plans, projects, business cases, and investment opportunities, aligning with corporate sustainability targets.
  • Assisting in preparing internal performance reports, including variance to budget, peer comparison reporting, and financial balanced scorecard measure calculations.
  • Conducting routine monitoring and investigation of the loan portfolio to ensure alignment to Conexus\xe2\x80\x99 credit risk appetite.
  • Developing, evaluating and maintaining credit risk models.
  • Supporting credit risk reporting for senior leadership and the board

The experience you bring
  • Relevant post-secondary education in business, economics, finance, accounting, or other technical discipline.
  • Experience working with a Financial Institution.
  • Knowledge of CUDGC regulatory environment including Basel III capital framework and Accounting Standards (IFRS) will be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of finance systems and tools, at minimum Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel).
