Reporting to the Manager, Financial Operations, the Financial Operations Leader - Student Finance provides leadership and guidance to the Student Finance Team. It is responsible for the issuance of student domestic and international refunds, reconciliations of the student accounts and tuition revenue accounts; is responsible for all deposits to our bank; provides technical guidance, direction, and expertise in student financial matters; assists the Manager with operational recommendations and the preparation of action plans. The Financial Operations Leader is expected to work with and provide support and leadership to various units across NAIT that support our students.

The position is responsible for leadership, analyzing and continual support of business needs within Student Finance and NAIT community regarding processes surrounding student financial records. Critical to the role is the need to seek solutions and enhancements that meet the Student Financial and Financial Accounting requirements, (Month, Quarter and Year End Financial Reporting) and the vision of flexible pathways through the academic model. This position is knowledgeable and responsible of issuance of annual Tax receipts to students (T2202 and T4A). This position is responsible for student financial reporting on the various accounts that report into it and provides support to the external auditors around the annual audit of these reports.

The Financial Operations Leader participates in the upgrade, installation, and documentation of computerized systems, which affect their assigned business units or NAIT\'s overall operations. These systems include but are not limited to PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, PeopleSoft Finance, Moneris, and RegisterBlast.

Qualifications:
  • Professional Designation (CPA) (equivalent education and experience will be considered)
  • Minimum of 3 years related accounting experience is required
  • Experience working in PeopleSoft Finance and Campus Solutions
  • Experience working with student financing and loans
Remuneration: $3,023.71 - $4,005.89 bi-weekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
