What You'll Do;

As a Planner with Golf Town, you'll build merchandise financial plans that influence sales, profits, and inventory performance at the category level across Canada's premier golf retailer.

You'll partner closely with Buyers and senior leaders in providing analysis, forecasting insights, and clear recommendations that guide seasonal buys, Open-to-Buy (OTB) decisions, markdown strategies, and stock movement.

Within this role you'll be connecting numbers to action and keeping teams aligned to financial goals, putting you at the centre of the business.

Manage and maintain merchandise financial plans by category, supplying summaries, forecasts, and allocation recommendations for merchants, Buyers, and the executive team, including bi-annual and mid-month reviews. Develop, analyse, and present a wide range of sales, inventory, stock-movement, and pre-season reports (daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal) to support assortment planning, replenishment strategies, and seasonal sign-offs. Review Open-to-Buy performance weekly, monthly, and year-to-date; recommend inventory requirements; support rolling 12-month forecasts; review open orders; and help manage core SKUs by store. Lead markdown analysis and execution, including summary reporting, recommending next steps, approving markdown manifests, and managing releases to stores. Provide key financial and business insights, including slow seller and aging analysis, season-end performance packages, and vendor three-year plan preparation, to support merchant planning and market meetings. Advise cross-functional partners by identifying actions, tracking progress against goals, and helping ensure all financial targets are met.

What You'll Bring;

Post-secondary education (University preferred) with a focus on retail, marketing or finance. 5+ years' work experience in retail planning, buying or merchandising. Business knowledge of retail inventory management, merchandising concepts and operations. Proficient in retail math in a retail multi-brand environment with advanced Excel skills. Proven track record in inventory, sales and margin management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Strong organizational and time management skills, working in a fast-paced team environment while multitasking and adapting to current business trends. Knowledge and passion for Golf!
