The position at a glance

BNP Paribas\xe2\x80\x99 Financial Institutions Coverage division (FIC) is a product-neutral group dedicated to the coverage of Canada\xe2\x80\x99s financial institutions (banks, insurance companies, pension asset managers and governments).

FIC is specifically in charge of:

  • Managing large institutional client relationships across all financial products on a global basis
  • Identifying new industry trends and related client needs
  • Working closely with our global product specialists in delivering tailored solutions to our clients across the full product suite (investment banking, debt capital markets, derivatives, transactional banking, structured solutions, etc.)
  • Understanding clients\xe2\x80\x99 background, roadmaps and objectives
  • Establishing and nurturing regular contacts at all levels of the client organization in order to develop long term business relationships
The successful candidate will work closely with the FIC Canada Head, Directors and VPs.

In detail
  • Opportunity to collaborate on a large cross-border transactions with well-known Canadian financial institutions;
  • Develop an in-depth understanding on how investment banks are structured (products, clients, sectors, etc.);
  • Mentoring and training will be provided to ensure the intern is fully-ready to be part of the team;
  • Exposure to internal and external stakeholders through meetings and events
  • Provide regular updates on industry, company specific developments, market events;
  • Perform summary analysis of financial results across the client portfolio for identifying latest trends and new business opportunities;
  • Create strategic sector and/or client presentation materials;
  • Actively contribute to special projects;
  • Prepare internal pre-meeting briefing materials;
  • Develop & maintain client/prospect fact sheets (investment database, profiles, etc.), opportunity pipeline, and weekly/monthly activity summaries;
  • FIC Canada\xe2\x80\x99s portfolio includes some of BNP Paribas\xe2\x80\x99 globally strategic clients and require extensive interaction with BNP Paribas teams in EMEA, LATAM and APAC;
  • Support all client matters related to KYC, Due Diligence, Compliance, CSR, on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Currently enrolled in an MBA program, preferably with a finance and/or accounting focus, with a graduation date of December 2023 or May 2024.
  • Prior work experiences in Banking or Finance;
  • Possess basic knowledge and a keen interest in Finance;
