Position Overview



We are seeking a

Financial Educator & Coach

to join our team. This is a flexible, part-time contractor role. The position is

Kelowna-based

: most programming is delivered in-person with our community partners in Kelowna and across the Okanagan. When not facilitating on-site, the Educator & Coach will work from a home office, including facilitating Zoom programs. Occasional travel within the Okanagan region will be required (mileage and parking reimbursed).

All program materials and training will be provided. That said, there is opportunity to contribute ideas, adapt workshops to participant needs, and help evolve our curriculum over time.

The ideal candidate is a skilled facilitator who can create inclusive and welcoming spaces for participants. They are passionate about helping individuals gain practical financial skills and confidence, and they are comfortable working both in group and one-on-one settings.

Responsibilities:

Facilitate financial education programs (in-person and online), including preparation, delivery, and partner communication Deliver curriculum using Launch Okanagan's program materials (training provided) Provide one-on-one financial coaching, helping clients with budgeting, saving, debt management, and accessing government benefits Build positive relationships with community partners and program participants (Optional/ideal)Assist with basic tax returns through the CRA's Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (training provided; no accounting designation required) Maintain accurate records of sessions and report back to the Launch Okanagan team
Qualifications:

Strong facilitation skills and experience leading workshops, training, or group sessions Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and judgment-free learning environment Experience working with vulnerable or diverse populations, using a trauma-informed approach Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable using Zoom and basic digital tools for remote delivery Background in financial literacy, adult education, or social services is an asset but not required Willingness to travel within the Okanagan (expenses reimbursed)
Compensation & Schedule:

Part-time contractor role,

$28-$32/hour depending on experience and qualifications

Flexible scheduling (some evenings or weekends depending on program needs)

Hybrid work model

: in-person facilitation at partner sites, plus home office work (including Zoom programs)
