Job Overview:

Focused on the Client Accounting team in British Columbia and reporting to the Vice President of Client Accounting - Canada, the Controller plays a crucial role in leading and driving change.

This operational leadership role involves overseeing the Client Accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, refining standard operating procedures, and maintaining compliance with relevant legislation.

The Controller will leverage their financial expertise to contribute to strategic initiatives and will lead, train, and collaborate with teams while demonstrating strong business acumen, communication skills, and process management capabilities.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Possess a solid understanding of Canadian GAAP, financial statement disclosure, and a minimum of 10 years of experience with an accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).
  • Proficient in designing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (ICFR), integrating best practices and ensuring compliance.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance in strata property management, including annual filing requirements, tax compliance (T2, T1044, GST, PST), and monitoring internal processes for alignment with legislation.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical agility, attention to detail, and the ability to address complex accounting issues while aligning decisions with strategic objectives.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive change within a dynamic environment, emphasizing process management, efficiency improvements, and execution of new systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships, handle tough conversations, and champion upcoming changes.
  • Excellent time management skills to efficiently manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, along with proficiency in Microsoft Suite and experience with an ERP system.
What We Offer:

Compensation:

$100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per annum.
