We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized
Financial Analyst
to join our collaborative Finance team in the travel industry. Successful candidate will work closely with Accounting and Finance Supervisor and is responsible for supporting the company's financial planning, analysis, and reporting process. The ideal candidate is a team player and has strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively.
This role requires a candidate with a broad foundation in accounting and finance, and the flexibility to support various functions depending on team needs. While you may not be responsible for every task listed below, you should have the experience and skills to contribute across multiple areas as part of a supportive and dynamic team.
Key Areas of Responsibility
As part of our team, you may contribute in one or more of the following areas:
Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
Assist in preparing financial presentations and reports for senior management.
Prepare and analyze weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Collaborate with accounting and operations teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting quality.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and explanations.
Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and strategic planning.
Analyze operational data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and improve financial performance.
Evaluate the financial performance of business initiatives, projects, or departments.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3+ years of accounting or finance experience, ideally in a high-volume environment.
CPA or currently enrolled in CPA program is an asset.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
Experience in the travel industry is considered an asset.
Experience in public accounting firm is an asset.
Skills & Competencies
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
High attention to detail with the ability to manage large sets of financial data.
Effective time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to adapt to new ERP.
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) is an asset.
