About this Role




Stenberg College is seeking a

Financial Analyst

to join our Finance team. This position is well-suited for a

detail-oriented

and

analytical professional

who excels at

transforming financial data into actionable insights

. The successful candidate will work closely with academic and operational leaders to support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and efficiency in financial operations.


Location:

Hybrid - Surrey, BC (combination of 2-3 days in-person and remote work)

Permanent, Full-Time, Hybrid

Start Date:

As soon as possible

Salary:

$80,000-$85,000 per year, plus benefits

Key Responsibilities




Financial Planning & Analysis




Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, highlighting key trends and variances. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes to support strategic planning. Develop and maintain financial dashboards and presentations for leadership. Partner with department heads to monitor budgets and optimize financial performance.

Financial Reporting & Compliance




Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP and ASPE standards. Support audits through analytical reporting and reconciliations. Assist with tax filings, remittances, and other regulatory requirements.

Operational Analysis & Insights




Analyze departmental and program-level financial performance to identify efficiencies and growth opportunities. Evaluate revenue streams, enrollment trends, and cost structures to support decision-making. Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend process improvements.

Process & Systems Improvement




Enhance financial reporting tools, dashboards, and workflows for greater accuracy and efficiency. Collaborate with IT and Finance leaders on ERP optimization and system upgrades. Implement best practices in financial modeling, reporting, and data visualization.

Collaboration & Business Partnership




Serve as a financial partner to academic and administrative departments. Provide insights to support staffing, program development, and capital planning. Build strong, collaborative relationships across the organization.

Qualifications




Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (required). CPA or CFA designation (completed or in progress preferred). 4-6 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, planning, or accounting. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data modeling, and financial forecasting). Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics GP, NetSuite, or similar). Experience in a post-secondary or multi-entity environment considered an asset.
