Working Arrangement Hybrid Reporting into Field Compensation and External Sales Reporting umbrella, this critical role is responsible for supporting Sales and Distribution. The Financial Analyst, Field Compensation & External Sales Reporting provides strategic support to Individual Insurance and Affinity with their compensation and reporting for sales/inforce metrics. The Financial Analyst will need to have a key understanding of the divisional business strategy to ensure alignment with compensation and rewards programs supported by the team. They will work with several strategic partners including; commissions, finance, underwriting, marketing and distribution teams. This role is expected to deliver reporting and analytics to help achieve business goals and drive sales. Key Accountabilities May Include: Field Compensation and Strategy (75%) Leads\' administration, annual review and design of compensation plans for variable paid personnel.

  • Building and administering plans that align with strategic direction and goals
  • Ensuring consistency of compensation plans and competitiveness across the industry and within Manulife
  • Confirm compensation plans are accurate and well laid out for employees
  • Allocation of annual incentive targets to internal staff and external advisors
  • Review and approval of the precise calculation of incentive payments and production of statements
  • Supporting the life cycle of field staff (Offer letters, compensation statements, promotions, terminations and reconciliations)
  • Explanation and analysis of variances in compensation plans relative to targets and provide commentary
  • Developing metrics, tracking and reporting sales leaders
Production Reporting and Analysis (25%) Deliver accurate and timely reporting for several Distribution teams that incorporates business knowledge, thought and understanding to help our partners make impactful decisions.
  • Advisor rewards program administration and reporting, including bonus calculations and payments
  • Internal and external sales reporting
  • Productivity reporting for field service staff
  • Coordinating the completion of surveys and ad hoc reporting
  • Reengineering tasks to improve efficiency and automation, reduce duplication, and minimize errors

Qualifications
  • University Degree and/or equivalent industry experience
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to work with complex financial issues and concepts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Initiative to explore new ideas and the ability to motivate others to accept progress and change
  • Proficient in Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint
  • SQL, VBA, and PowerBI knowledge are an asset
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sound business practices and controls, and accounting/audit principles applicable to Distribution

Salary & Benefits The annual base salary for this role is listed below.






Primary Location Toronto, Ontario Salary range is expected to be between $51,525.00 CAD - $85,875.00 CAD If you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
