Job Description

If you want to join a fast-growing, dynamic team via Robert Half, you might be a good fit for this Financial Analyst position, where you will be a key business partner in forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. Located in the Toronto, Ontario, area, this Financial Analyst role is a short-term contract / temporary employment opportunity. On an average day, the Financial Analyst will conduct financial modeling on various financial products as well as measure, analyze and forecast performance in conjunction with operating plans. Advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and preparing reports for management will also be among the Financial Analyst\'s duties.

Major responsibilities

- Execute and monitor forecasting reports

- Drive monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required

- Work next to cross-functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans

- Work with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process

- Review annual performance by comparing actual results to their expectations

- Support weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting

- Adaptable individual experienced in analyzing large amounts of information and managing expectations

- Analyze performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities

- Work with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization

- Discover the root causes of internal and external facts that are influencing performance and outcomes

- Enable effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support
- Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

- Critical thinking, problem solving, ability to work independently

- Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience a plus)

- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is a plus

- BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Proficiency with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required

- Comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting

- Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
