THE ROLE: The Financial Analyst will be a key member of our Finance Team supporting our Finance, Treasury, Investor Relations, and Analytics functions. In this role, you provide critical analytical support and assist with quarter-end deliverables. You will also get involved with driving special projects and initiatives, all while interfacing with various internal teams and external auditors. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Treasury:

  • Assist in daily cash management and other treasury functions
  • Monitor corporate bank accounts, including the opening and closing bank accounts.
  • Prepare and process wires, and code invoices.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly reporting deliverables related to Treasury.
  • Prepare loan renewal notices by coordinating signatures internally and delivering to external parties.
Financing:
  • Support the Financing process, including equity, mortgages, unsecured debentures, credit facilities etc.
  • Coordinate and liaise with various teams on administrative financing matters and ownership structures.
  • Prepare timeline with respect to quarterly month end tasks.
Investor Relations:
  • Create Investor Relations presentations and assist in updating slides on a quarterly basis.
  • Update and maintain the investor database while monitor and track changes to company units and unitholders.
  • Complete retail REIT peer research for industry comparison.
Analytics:
  • Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual space and tenant occupancy analyses, related management reporting and financial statements disclosures.
  • Support forecasting, asset strategy, sustainability and investor relations teams with space and tenant occupancy information and other analytics data.
  • Develop property and portfolio level analyses related to various initiatives of the Analytics team focused on FFO optimization strategies.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring of KPIs.
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • Undergraduate degree in business, analytics, or real estate with a designation.
  • One (1) to three (3) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Finance or Accounting function preferably with a public company.
  • Working towards a finance designation (CPA, CFA or equivalent).
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Detail-oriented with advanced analytical skills to gather and synthesize data; open-minded and able to consider new ways of looking at information.
  • Real estate industry knowledge with exposure to property accounting, leasing, and real estate analytics.
  • Adept with IT tools\xe2\x80\x93 superior spreadsheet knowledge allowing to design and implement well-thought out and complex analytical models.
  • Experience with programming knowledge and/or JDE exposure is an asset.
  • Strong team player focused on team goals.
  • Well-developed communication skills to effectively communicate across all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, dealing with competing priorities and deadlines through organizational and time management skills.
