Westland Insurance Group Ltd is growing and has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst working in a hybrid model at our newly launched head office at the King George Hub in Surrey, BC. Family-owned and backed by Blackstone Credit, Westland is one of Canada's most active acquirers, having completed over 30 acquisitions over the last 12 months.

You will play an instrumental role in executing Westland's organic and inorganic growth strategy. This includes being responsible for the analysis of financial activities and providing advice and guidance on future financial plans. You will work closely with your team to ensure reporting deadlines are met and service standards are maintained. You possess a high level of emotional intelligence and can effectively build a culture of trust and respect with internal customers and the broader Finance Team. The Financial Analyst will be a key team member of Westland's active and high performing Business Decision Support team.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an organized and highly analytical individual who is looking to expand their knowledge and assist with:

• Development of comprehensive set of key financial and operational management

reports to support decision making

• Development and cascading of KPIs throughout the organization

• Assistance with preparation of the annual budget

• Identify and investigate monthly variances to budget and forecast

• Tracking financial results of acquired entities and comparing to pre-acquisition

estimates

• Ad hoc financial analysis for various initiatives as assigned

• Assist with Finance projects that arise from time to time

Here's what you bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce/Business, with focus on finance or accounting

• 3+ years of direct experience in a financial analyst role, 5+ years overall of

professional experience

• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills

• Exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Detail oriented with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks; able to adapt

quickly to changing needs, responsibilities, and tasks

• Ability to problem solve and think outside the box

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Experience using a performance management system

• Proficient at Power Point and Microsoft Word

• CPA designation (or working towards) or other post-secondary

Accounting/Finance certification is an asset

• Experience with a big 4 accounting firm is an asset
