The successful candidate will perform analytical work to support business decision-making and achievement of financial goals of the Research, Innovation & Discovery, and Interprofessional Practice & Learning teams and support the Chief Nursing Executive\'s office with financial matters. The analyst works closely with these operational teams to provide an array of financial services and expertise. This position would be an excellent opportunity for an individual looking for broad exposure to accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in the healthcare environment, with the opportunity to work on leading-edge projects with innovative leaders. The successful candidate will establish relationships with other financial analysts supporting other programs and liaise regularly within this group to share ideas and work together toward common goals.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Deliver high-quality customer service to Operational leaders across NSH
  • Support Leaders in understanding financial results and issues
  • Perform various month-end accounting duties and cost center maintenance
  • Monthly financial forecasting and variance analysis
  • Collaborate with various teams to develop and implement process improvements
  • Analyze budgetary positions and assess spending alternatives to help achieve financial goals
  • Provide financial education to operational leaders
  • Conduct analysis to deepen understanding of cost drivers and financial variances
  • Contribute to business case development and financial proposals
  • Present financial results & analysis to cost center managers
About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:
  • Graduate of a recognized post-secondary business and/or accounting program (Undergraduate degree preferred)
  • Enrolment or completion of CPA designation is considered an asset
  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of financial and accounting experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, sumifs, organizing data sets, etc.)
  • Knowledge of SAP other another large ERP financial system will be an asset
  • Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • High degree of curiosity with strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking skills
  • Strong organizational skills, reliable, autonomous, and keen sense of initiative
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced dynamic team environment
  • Healthcare experience or knowledge considered an asset
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
