You\'ll be interested in Robert Half\'s new opportunity if you are a skilled Financial Analyst. There is a Financial Analyst job open for candidates who are interested in becoming a key business partner in forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. In this position, you will conduct financial modeling on various financial products, as well as measure, analyze and forecast performance in conjunction with operating plans. In this position, you will also advise management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and prepare reports for management. This Financial Analyst role is based in the Sarnia, Ontario, area and is a long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity.

Your responsibilities

- Study performance to date and examine potential risks and opportunities

- Manage monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required

- Support contacts in Accounting and Operations to execute business plans

- Perform extensive research on the underlying internal and external drivers that are affecting performance and trending

- Analyze annual performance by comparing actual results to their expectations and supply information to business partners to inform decision making

- This position would best fit a flexible individual who has experience managing expectations and feels comfortable working with a large amount of information

- Execute and monitor forecasting reports

- Participate in planning with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization

- Maintain weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting

- Work with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process

- Enable effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support
- Prior experience in Spreadsheet and ERP system

- BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

- Excellent oral and written communications skills

- Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

- Excellent problem-solving skills

- General familiarity with SAP

- Budget forecasting experience

- Operational Budgets experience

- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel

- Strong familiarity with risk analysis

- Financial analysis experience

- Proven knowledge of Project Budgets

- Well-founded grasp of Deficiencies

- Variance analysis experience

- Skill with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required

- Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience preferred)

- Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
