Financial Analyst

SSC Security Services Corp. is a TSX Venture Exchange-listed company which provides physical, cyber, and electronic security services to corporate and public sector clients across Canada. SSC currently has approximately 3,000 employees and is headquartered in Regina, Saskatchewan.

We have a permanent full-time opportunity in our Regina head office for a well-organized Financial Analyst to assist with ongoing accounting and financial reporting. The individual will work closely with senior management gaining valuable knowledge as we continue to grow our business.

Job responsibilities:

Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to senior management Prepare/review monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts Produce monthly reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting Identify opportunities for performance improvement across the organization Develop models that help with decision-making Analyze profit and loss variances Assist with the preparation of documentation required for external audit Provide insight into various accounting requirements including CRA requirements. Provide advice and guidance on accounting matters including financial systems, record keeping, analysis, and reporting Identify internal process gaps and provide recommendations for improvements Other tasks and responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

3+ years experience working as a Financial Analyst or Senior Accountant role, preferably with publicly traded companies or entities reporting under IFRS University degree in Business/Accounting, with/or working towards advanced degree or professional accounting designation preferred Strong working knowledge of Word and Excel with the ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets, format financial documents, and manage data The ability to work independently using sound judgment and initiative Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills Superior written and verbal communication Attention to accuracy and detail required Cooperative team player with the motivation and willingness to experience a fast-paced environment
