How will you spend your time?
You'll assist with the preparation of monthly actual-to -budget reports and financial statements.
Prepare accurate monthly journal entries, reconciliations, working papers, and schedules.
Record and reconcile investment activity, including manager statements, custodial records, and the general ledger.
Maintain and update monthly liability projections and total fund estimated returns.
Process invoices and payments, reconcile bank accounts and cash receipts, and resolve discrepancies.
Support the annual financial audit by preparing working papers.
Review all internal trade activities to ensure compliance with applicable instructions and documentation.
Maintain and update the investment management fees workbook.
Provide support for payments to our members and beneficiaries, and serve as backup to other Financial Analysts.
Provide exceptional service to stakeholders, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax rules, and internal policies.
What expertise will you bring?
You'll have a post-secondary degree in commerce, business administration, or a related field, with 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (pension accounting an asset). An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
A Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation or enrolled within and/or committed to the CPA program is preferred.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards, including income tax regulations.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Demonstrated time management skills, and ability to prioritize when involved with multiple initiatives and changing priorities.
Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent ability to plan, organize and manage complex projects in a self-directed environment.
Proficient in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
What is the pay?
$71,496 - $89,370 annually (based on qualifications and skills)
