General Description:


The Financial Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the financial planning and analysis function at Madison Group. This role involves providing detailed financial insights, preparing forecasts and budgets, and assisting in strategic decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, exceptional analytical skills, and experience in the real estate development industry.


Primary Responsibilities:


Conduct detailed financial analysis and modeling to support business decisions Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Assist in the development and management of the annual budget and long-term financial forecasts Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and areas of improvement Support the preparation of financial presentations for senior management and stakeholders Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support strategic planning Assist in evaluating potential investment opportunities and real estate projects Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary financial data and insights Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies Support ad-hoc financial projects and analyses as needed Assist in the coordination, development, and updating written policies and procedures over the financial report process Assist in the development and implementation of financial simulation models Assist in analyzing costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company's actual performance compared to the business plans Assist in planning short and long-term cash flows and assessing financial performance Correspond with other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken Establish profitability standards for investment activities and be involved in acquisitions Follow up on financing projects with banks




Required Skills and Qualifications:


University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in the real estate development industry Strong financial modeling and analytical skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel Knowledge of NewStar/REMS and Yardi considered an asset Experience with PowerQuery and Power BI Ability to manage large sets of data Excellent communication and presentation skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Knowledge of financial regulations and standards Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically Experience with financial reporting and forecasting Extensive understanding of financial trends both with the company and general market patterns In-depth knowledge of financial statistics and accounting principles, laws, and best practices
