Join the Estx?way?usem Finance Department as a Financial Analyst. This role is vital to strengthening the financial integrity of the Squamish Nation Government. You will play a key role in supporting strategic and business opportunities, providing financial insights that guide Council and departmental leaders in making proactive decisions that improve the wellbeing of our community members. As part of the Financial Planning & Analysis team, you will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and decision support--bridging the gap between Finance and operations while ensuring that financial planning aligns with the Nation's long-term goals and values.
What You'll Do

Provide financial analysis and decision support to leadership, modeling key decisions and challenging assumptions in forecasts.
Identify and deliver cost savings and process improvements to support operational efficiency.
Support major projects and initiatives with financial expertise that aligns with Squamish Nation's strategic goals.
Prepare monthly forecasts, variance analysis, and commentary to increase visibility into performance.
Generate quarterly and annual Council-level reports with actionable insights.
Partner with stakeholders on long-term financial planning and support the annual budgeting process.
Enhance financial systems and processes, including improvements to planning, reporting, and data governance.
Collaborate across departments to ensure financial fluency and support service delivery.
Contribute to the development of the Nation's overall finance capability while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and integrity.
What We're Looking For

Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
Experience in financial analysis, planning, or related fields.
Experience with financial modeling, scenario analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience (JD Edwards or similar).
Proven ability to identify cost savings, support process improvements, and enhance reporting systems.
Deep respect for Indigenous teachings, traditions, and culturally safe service delivery.
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Cultural humility and respect for Sk?wx?wu?7mesh values, sovereignty, and self-determination.
Knowledge of long-term financial planning and capital budgeting an asset.
Experience working in or alongside First Nations governments or Indigenous organizations preferred.

Salary:
$62,500 - $87,500
Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning to the midpoint of the range. We are committed to providing a fair and equitable package that reflects the value an individual brings to the organization.
