Job Summary




The Financial Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the financial planning and analysis function within a dynamic international logistics and freight organization. This position is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to provide actionable insights that drive informed decision-making. The role involves comprehensive financial reporting, variance, and segment analysis, KPI and monitoring, and accounting support for month-end processes.

Responsibilities



Prepare consolidated monthly business reports, including actual results vs forecast/budget and prior year comparisons. Perform detailed monthly variance analysis to explain significant deviations from prior year and or budget. Prepare sectional and segment business reports to evaluate performance across various business units. Analyze financial results and operational metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making. Prepare and update monthly activities report summarizing business highlights, key issues, and recommendations. Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide financial insights and analytics support to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable management. Support leadership with data-driven analysis to improve performance across multiple business areas. Process intercompany transactions for Ocean and Air shipments. Prepare and process payroll-related entries and other month-end journal entries as assigned. Support month-end closing activities ensuring timely and accurate submission of workflows. Perform other required tasks.

Qualifications




Experience & Technical Skills:

Experience with ERP system and financial reporting tools Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis, macro, financial modelling) Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, preferably within the logistics, transportation, or freight forwarding industry

Education/Certifications



College diploma required or equivalent experience University degree in Accounting or business a plus

Location and Work Environment



Workstation in the Accounting Department at Head Office Quiet, no extreme fluctuations in temperature or exposure to dangerous substances Some stress related to conflicting demands, deadlines, and prioritization of tasks Overtime or after hours work as required
