The Opportunity
We are seeking a Financial Analyst who is passionate about purpose-driven work and wants to apply ?nancial expertise to advance sustainable community development. The Financial Analyst will focus on ?nancial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis across Shorefast's entities, contributing to transparency and informed decision-making. This role will also help build internal capacity through the development of processes, tools, and systems that strengthen ?nancial stewardship and accountability.
What You'll Do
Develop and maintain accounting processes and internal controls to support growth and accountability across Shorefast entities.
Prepare timely, accurate, and insightful ?nancial reports and dashboards for management and program teams.
Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes; track performance and analyze variances.
Conduct cost and impact analyses on projects and initiatives to evaluate ?nancial e?ciency and mission alignment.
Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure consistent coding and reconciliation across entities.
Prepare audit documentation and support external auditors during year-end review.
Contribute to the implementation and optimization of accounting software and reporting systems.
Provide ?nancial input for grant proposals, funding applications, and impact reports.
Help strengthen ?nancial literacy across teams and foster understanding of Shorefast's ?nancial practices and principles.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and relevant tax regulations.
Quali?cations and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Pursuing or holding a professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is an asset.
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting or ?nancial analysis (experience in both
not-for-pro?t and for-pro?t sectors preferred).
Pro?cient with NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software.
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data modeling.
Knowledge of accounting standards.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Collaborative, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
