The financial analyst actively participates in the organization's financial management by ensuring rigorous monitoring of administrative expenses. The chosen candidate will be responsible for producing analysis of admnistrative expenses, coordinating the annual budgeting process, and supporting senior management in making informed decisions. By collaborating with various stakeholders, they will play a key role in cost optimization, implementing internal controls, and continuously improving financial analysis tools. This role directly contributes to financial discipline and the quality of information used in decision-making processes.
What you'll do
Responsibilities
Monitor actual expenses on a monthly and quarterly basis against approved budgets.
Analyze variances, identify their causes, communicate findings, and propose corrective actions.
Produce reports and presentations tailored to senior management needs to ensure continuous communication of financial results.
Coordinate quarterly financial forecasting processes as well as the annual budgeting process for expenditures.
Prepare budget reports for senior management.
Rigorously document all changes made to assumptions and budgets throughout the process.
Implement internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance of financial data.
Implements internal controls and ensures compliance with budgets and spending policies;
Promotes a culture of responsible financial management, identifies cost-saving opportunities, and supports decision-making through financial analysis;
Recommend improvements to forecasting models and analytical methods to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
What you'll need
Qualifications
Due to the nature of the position, the incumbent must demonstrate strong skills in:
Oral and written communication in both French and English;
Prioritization, planning, and decision-making;
Active listening, collaboration, and negotiation;
Attention to detail and accuracy in analyses;
Initiative, analytical ability, and a sense of innovation;
Action- and results-oriented mindset;
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, charts);
Knowledge of best practices in cost management and budget optimization.
A CPA designation, or being in the process of obtaining one, as well as experience applying IFRS accounting standards-particularly related to administrative expenses-are considered assets.
