What will you do?
Reporting to the Supervisor, Accounting, the Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the Finance department through recording, reporting, and measuring of the information and assets of the organization and its entities. The Position will support the production and recording of financial information critical to business interests and create reports to departmental leadership regarding accounting data to enable knowledge-based decision making and forecasts.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct analytical review of the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts monthly, including the reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.
Prepare working papers and Excel spreadsheets to facilitate the preparation of monthly financial statements and departmental budgets.
Perform billing system imports and revenue transfers.
Perform Hour Bank and Office Supervisory Administrative Services Only Reconciliations.
Maintain bank accounts, reconciling and reviewing bank statements and requests.
Assist in the preparation of year-end audit files for external auditors.
Prepare GST returns and provincial sales tax returns.
Prepare reports and presentations to assist management in decision making.
Preparing monthly journal entries, including prepaids, accruals and benefit expenses.
Perform monthly variance analysis from budget.
Work with the external audit team, ensuring all necessary critical information is available.
Maintain manuals for documenting accounting procedures and policies, including; databases and financial processes.
Collect and conduct analysis of historical data to be used in the budget process.
Assist in the preparation of the budget presentation.
Serve as backup for the accounts payable processes.
Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Accounting in support of the Finance department.

Qualifications
Post-secondary education in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
2-5 years of direct experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Experience and knowledge of aspects of corporate accounting and financial management principles.
Experience with Microsoft Business Central or similar financial system considered an asset.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.
Sound mathematical reasoning, analysis, and judgement skills.

High degree of interpersonal, written and oral communications skills.
Effective problem-solving skills.
