The Opportunity



This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic national surety team, where you'll play a key role in supporting underwriters across Canada. You'll contribute to financial and risk analysis, account setup, portfolio reviews, and system updates, while helping evaluate new business opportunities.

Ideal for a detail-oriented and analytical professional with a background in commerce, finance, or accounting, this role offers exposure to a fast-paced environment, cross-functional collaboration, and the chance to influence process improvements.

What You'll Be Doing

Underwriting Support - National




Assisting underwriters nationally as needed with the following tasks:

Input FS Analysis - provide commentary regarding needs for additional information Backlog/Work on Hand Analysis to provide trending reports Set up new accounts and prepare initial analysis Review portfolio for outdated information and prepare requests for information to brokers Update internal systems with current information as updates come in Prepare annual write ups on updated accounts for underwriter review File correspondence and updates Evaluate new risks through thorough analysis to determine acceptability and pricing. Analyze financial statements, capacity, collateral and character of new surety opportunities. Analyze and review projects, approving within given authority, or recommending approval or denial of surety bonds.

OVERALL:



Work with surety team on suggestions for improving systems and processes, with a focus on continued efficiencies. Assist team members across the country, where needed. Ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned.

Who You Are



You're a detail-oriented and adaptable professional who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. With strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a drive to learn, you bring confidence, precision, and initiative to every task, whether working independently or as part of a national team.

You bring:

A Bachelor of Commerce Degree or related Accounting or Finance Degree. 1+ years of relevant experience Strong knowledge of MS Office - particularly Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, math skills, demonstrated logic and accuracy. Excellent time management skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced changing work environment and comfortable with ambiguity. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, driving for results. Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team. High level of organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Confidence to speak up with ideas, questions, concerns. Previous insurance and/or credit analysis experience a definite asset. Desire to learn.
