Job Summary:


The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of cost accounting standards, experience applying accounting principles, theories, and concepts to financial transactions in a fast-pace environment. This individual must havea strong knowledge of Bill of Material (BOM#s), Routings, Work Centers, and their relevancies to product costing. The individual must also have a clear understanding of cost accounting / manufacturing drivers and the ability to translate and interpret these within financial results to tell a story.



Responsibilities:


Responsibilities, including but not limited to: ##Cost accounting: o#Apply fundamental accounting theories and concepts to support the cost accounting function o#Regularly review costs and update where required to ensure accuracy in cost and inventoryvaluationo#Perform monthly analysis of inventory related general ledger account variances and reconcile changeso#Ensure accuracy and reliability of general ledger/trial balance for the inventory accountso#Review, summarize, and report recommendations on inventory, E&O reserveo#Assist in month-end closing activities, including accuracy of manufacturing overhead expenses, overhead allocations, inventory, and cost-of-goods-sold.o#Actively participate in year-end inventory counts o#Support the budgeting and annual cost roll processeso#Backup to weekly payrollo#Other finance and administrative duties as required



Required Skills and Experience


Experience and skills:o#Degree or diploma in business, finance, accounting, or a related fieldo#2-3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment o#Experience with BPCS system is an asseto#Proficient in Excel and other Microsoftoffice toolso#Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices and reporting requirementso#Knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controlso#Sound experience in the use of ERP systems. o#Able to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environmento#Ability to analyze and present numerical data in tables, spreadsheets, and formso#Attention to detailo#Demonstrated time management skillso#Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demandso#High level of integrity and excellent work ethic.o#Ability to work independently with a keen eye for detail
