The Finance and Risk Management department plays a key role in supporting the college's mission through responsible financial stewardship and proactive risk oversight. We are a collaborative team dedicated to ensuring the long-term sustainability and resilience of the institution by providing transparent financial services, managing risk effectively, and supporting informed decision-making across the college.

Position Overview:




We're seeking a dedicated finance professional who will play a critical role in the financial planning; preparation, support, and monitoring of the College budget as well as the implementation of any new budgetary systems and procedures; and the development and preparation of statistical analysis and Ministry of Education and Training reports. Key Responsibilities:



Developing the budget for full-time salaries and fringe benefits as well as projecting costs, savings, and impacts of all leaves, retirements, compensation changes and planning for all staffing changes Working closely with managers in the planning, development and monitoring of their budgets and reviewing the impact on the overall college budget Assist in planning, tracking and developing annual college enrolments by creating appropriate spreadsheets and maintaining an enrolment database Contributing to the financial stability of the college by providing a wide range of costing, analysis, risk mitigation strategies and advice with regards to business cases and grant proposals Contributing to the reduction of expenses and improved efficiencies, and increasing revenue within the College by developing analytical techniques to identify areas of concern Serving as a primary resource contact with college mangers related to unique grant funding and required contribution calculations and reporting Preparing progress reports in alignment with Grant Guidelines and/or Ministry Directives and advising directors and managers on appropriate disbursement of these funds Assisting managers in developing, submitting and maintaining budgets as well as assessing the impact of any budget or operational changes Interpreting and analyzing financial and budgetary statements

Qualifications:



Successfully completed a three-year degree in a relevant field of study that may include, but is not limited to business or accounting Successfully completed an Accounting Designation (CPA) Minimum 5 years' experience in a role requiring strong analytical, mathematical, computerized financial system and human relation skills in a large-scale organization Proven ability and experience working in a computerized financial system with the ability to prepare and present detailed reports as well as executive summaries to budget holders and key stakeholders at all levels of the organization Demonstrated advanced Excel skills Proven planning and organizational skills and the ability to meet tight timelines Experience making presentations and facilitating information sessions Proven analytic and mathematical skills Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and oral communication skills Occasional travel is required Experience in an educational institution would be an asset
